Anecdote

I wish I knew about the lemon juice method for rust removal last summer.

I have an old straw/nylon baseball style hat from the 60’s. It’s gray and white checked and has a brass buckle over the brim. It looks like something Katherinne Hepburn wore in “Bringing Up Baby.”

I hung it up sweaty from a day in the garden and the combination of the sweat and the metal hook left a rust mark on the back. I tried scouring with a soap pad, but all that did was leave a big hole in the weave. Lemon juice probably would have worked and the hat would still be whole.
